Captain John W. Johnson is a native of Miami, Florida. He has served the residents of his community for the past 15 years as a correctional professional.

Presently, he is the Accreditation and Inspections Manager (AIM) for the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department. As the AIM, John is charged with ensuring departmental conditions of confinement and custody services adhere to federal, state and local regulatory standards. Concurrently, Lieutenant Johnson has achieved and maintained professional certifications and affiliations via the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission (Assessor), American Correctional Association (Auditor) and the American Jail Association (Jail Manager).

More recently, he has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the American Jail Association (Sergeant-at-Arms) and Corrections Accreditation Manager’s Association (Treasurer). His academic achievements include a Bachelor of Public Administration (Barry University) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Florida Atlantic University).
